• Century Brand Natural Cement is made from quarrying the original and historic cement quarries in upstate NY, burning the stone in our plant in Brookfield, MA at low temperatures, and then grinding the clinker to yield natural cement. Just pure, genuine, & authentic natural cement.
NATURAL COLOR
• Because Century Brand Natural Cement is made from genuine and authentic natural cement stone, matching historic mortar and plaster is easy, as the distinctive color of traditional natural cement is the distinctive color of Century Brand Natural Cement.

• Century Brand Natural Cement has the same richness of traditional Natural Cement
• When mixed and installed correctly Century Brand Natural Cement is known for its’ quicker set times and proven durability in the harshest environments. It has been successfully used in the most extreme exposures, from Fort Jefferson in the middle of the Dry Tortugas to harsh Canadian winters.

MASONRY
• Throughout the 19th century, natural cement was the preferred choice when building our lasting architectural treasures, such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the US Capitol, and fortifications. Ours is made from the exact same materials.

• When it comes to durable, long lasting, and weather resistant stuccos and plasters, Century Brand Natural Cement provides breathable, eco-friendly, and flexible coatings for historic structures made from real Natural Cement limestone.
GROUTS/ SPECIALTY
• Traditionally architects, engineers, and builders relied on natural cements from upstate NY to solve issues that arise from building aqueducts, canals, and more. Century Brand Natural Cement has been used for like repairs in many of these applications.

SURFACE PREPARATION
• Old mortar should be removed as specifed in the contract doucments and should be a uniform depth.
• Area to be repaired should be sound and free of all dust, dirt, grease, or foreign substances.
• MOISTEN WORK TO BE REPAIRED WITH WATER TO CONTROL SUCTION OF THE MASONRY UNITS.
• Do not apply to excessive hot or frozen masonry. Mimimum temperature should be 40°F and rising.
MIXING
• Water dosing should be determined by the cement to aggregate ratio used.
• Mixing may be done by hand or mechanical mixer until the product is throughly combined.
• Working time will depend on temperature and humidity and material should be mixed and used before initial set has occurred.
• ONLY MIX AS MUCH MATERIAL AS CAN BE INSTALLED IN 30 MINUTES
CURING/AFTERCARE
• Protect work from sun, wind, drying rains, for 24-72 hours depending on absorption rates of the historic substrates. Damp mist as necessary to maintain optimal curing conditions
• Depending on mix design and atmospheric conditions additional periods of curing may be deemed necessary.
